Eau de Banana Boat? (However, there is no SPF in this product - go figure!). To me it smells like a very nostalgic Australian-kid-beach-summer-sunscreen. There are 7 fragrance ingredients in this foundation, and it’s been noted as smelling paint-like, and thankfully this does fade once the foundation settles in. No other foundation can replicate this tech which makes naming a dupe tricky business. What is it with lux brands and technology? I’m not mad, I’m impressed! This foundation has a patented micro-fil technology which basically gets the pigments to lay flat on the skin's surface and sculpts and brightens the skin. As always, I nitpick, there could be more warmer shades throughout the depths, with the shade range favouring cool and neutral undertones. It's easy to find the perfect match for your complexion, especially as the difference between shades is so slight, with yellow, neutral and pink undertones catered for. The colours appear true to the swatch, and do not oxidise or discolour upon application. It feels heavy and expensive, but comes into the same problems as Gucci in that it is not fit for travel - or at least not the way I travel.Īvailable in 40 shades, which appears to be the go-to for luxury brands. Pros of Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation Shade 5: I have not used that foundation hence I cannot compare but I know tons of beauty bloggers who support this opinion. I do not love the fact that it is so pricey and also I would not recommend this product for people with very oily skin who do need to set their makeup with heavy duty powder since powder tends to take away the luminosity of this foundation away, which is the best part of the product.įor the record, the L’Oreal True Match lumi foundation is supposed to be a drugstore dupe for this product. I do have very dry skin overall with areas of my chin and underye oily.

For places, where I do need heavier coverage like on my post-acne scars, I do need to build up another layer on that particular area with about half a pump and it does not look piled on or cakey. I can apply one layer on my skin (blended with my trusted beauty blender) and I find it covers most of my skin flaws like redness and uneven skin tone. The coverage is medium but it is easily build-able.
